Maddy Ringo is a singer-songwriter from Toronto. Raised in the opera world, she pivoted to folk busking when the pandemic closed its doors on live performance. Now, she is developing a career in folk-Americana in Ann Arbor, while she pursues a degree in classical voice from the University of Michigan. Her songwriting draws inspiration from the music of her midwest childhood: Canadian folk, Americana of the 1970s, and 90s indie rock, with mezzo vocals like K.D. Lang and bluesy edges reminiscent of Joni Mitchell. Her debut album ‘Wake Up Woman’ is available on all streaming platforms.
