Hailing from the University of Michigan, the Philip Buchman Trio offers a refined trio experience with original sounds and compositions, while still bringing the familiarity of Oscar Peterson, Ray Brown, and Bill Evans. The members of the trio have appeared at venues all over Southeast Michigan, such as: Cliff Bells, The Blue Llama, Ravens Club, Ziggy's, and more. These musicians are some of the finest SMTD has to offer; pianist Rowan Tucker-Meyer and bassist Jack Nissen are currently studying at the University of Michigan, and drummer/bandleader Philip Buchman graduated in 2023 and is now based in Detroit.
