Bruce Sagan is a respected teacher and performer of Scandinavian music on fiddle and nyckelharpa. In 1986 he co-founded a camp for Scandinavian music and dance on the East Coast which is still going today. He was awarded the Zorn Diploma in Bronze in 1994 for his playing before a Swedish jury of muscians. His CDs have garnered critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic.
Brad Battey started Scandinavian fiddling with Bruce when he was a wee young thing of 12 years old, but he has been playing for contra dances for almost as long as he can remember. A high-energy fiddler, he is a member of many bands in Southeast Michigan. He has also been known to play fiddle and nyckelharpa for English Country Dancing. Bruce and Brad's album, Letter from America, contains tunes in Scandinavian style composed by American musicians.
