The Royal Garden Trio plays traditional jazz with a distinctly non-traditional sound. The group features cello, guitar, tenor guitar and clarinet, instruments not typical for a jazz combo. The results are a unique and playful mix of strings and the beautiful sound of a clarinet floating occasionally through the songs. The trio draws upon the music of the golden age of jazz from the 1930’s, while putting its own distinctive spin on the era. This band is no relic of the past- it plays live, hot jazz in the moment, delighting audiences of all ages. Featured soloist in the band is cellist Mike Karoub, whose virtuosity always charges a room with electricity. Combine Mike with the vast experience of Tom Bogardus on tenor guitar and clarinet and you have an unbeatable musical duo. Finally, add guitarist Brian Delaney laying down a rhythmic foundation with Tom and all the elements are in place.
