Hailing from the Ann Arbor area, the Pontiac Trail Blazers have been the house bluegrass band for Detroit Street Filling Station since 2017. They are often joined by a bevy of special guests and focus on the beautiful harmonies and acoustic prowess that are unique to their Bluegrass roots. With a deep repertoire of traditional standards, originals, and unique covers, the Trail Blazers will keep you guessing with unexpected tunes and arrangements every week. Joining them this week will be Yali Rivlin on saxophone.

Yali Rivlin is a saxophonist and a dancer. Devoting his artistic life to both of these artforms, he studied both jazz and classical music with his mentor and teacher Vincent York and graduated with a BA in dance from SEAD (Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance) in Salzburg, Austria. After working and performing as a professional dancer in Europe for 7 years, he is currently based in Michigan where he is involved in numerous music and dance projects. He recently released the record 'Willow' with John Hanson (Saltbreaker) and soon to come a new record with his local band ‘The Handstanders’. In addition to recently recording as a session musician with May Erelewine and Yimes, Yali is currently working on a record of his own.
